6 Tips to Keep Your Pantry Organized

6 Tips to Keep Your Pantry Organized We put our kitchen through the ringer.

With all the activity that occurs in the kitchen, it’s no wonder how it can be tough to keep a pantry organized. We all have visions of a nice and neat pantry with each item being easy to find, but after a day of making breakfast, preparing lunches, and then cooking dinner, those visions begin to feel like more of a pipedream.

Luckily, there are some creative and inexpensive ways to make it easier to maintain a high level of organization in your pantry.

1) Keep It Clear

An organized pantry means being able to find what you are looking for quickly and without having to move a lot of the other items to get to it. Clear storage bins or baskets help you see what is inside before you go pulling down everything, which helps you find your ingredients quicker without disorganizing the rest of your pantry in the process.

2) Over the Door

If you haven’t seen already, there are many ways to utilize the space on the inside of your pantry door. Hanging organizers can hold all sorts of different items, from canned goods to small boxes or bags. It is a good idea to use this space for commonly used items, so you don’t even need to bother looking into the pantry – just open the door and immediately grab what you need!

3) Store Related Items Together

One trick to help find things quickly is to group related items in the same container or basket. That way you can just take out the entire container and know that what you’re looking for will be in it, rather than hunting down an individual item in a mass of other things.

4) Tiered Storage

Using bleacher-like storage options creates visibility in your pantry by utilizing levels. The raised tiers let you see the items that are behind other items much more easily. This eliminates the need to move cans and boxes to see what is behind them, saving you time and keeping your pantry much more neat.

5) Lazy Susans

Pantries can be awkwardly shaped which makes them much harder to organize. Sometimes they can be in the corner with shelves that aren’t necessarily straight across. For these odd corner spaces, a Lazy Susan can maximize the space and keep you from having to reach back into the far corner of an oddly shaped pantry.

6) Hang Your Pots and Pans

Larger cookware, especially when haphazardly stacked, can create an unsightly scene. Hanging pots and pans saves valuable space and also makes them much easier to access.

There are many ways to reinvigorate a kitchen, but the cheapest and least stressful is to just take some time and reorganize what you already have.
